Privacy notice

What happens to personal data when you visit ai.teren.no, write to us or book a call. Teren AS is responsible for it.

In short

  • No cookies, no advertising trackers, no scripts from other companies on this site.
  • Our server keeps access logs with the last part of your IP address removed, for 30 days, to keep the site secure and count visits.
  • If you email us or book a call, we use your details to answer you and prepare a proposal, and for nothing else.
  • “Ask your own AI” copies text in your browser. Nothing about you is sent to us.

Who is responsible

Teren AS, Org. no. 935 197 589, Oslo, Norway, is the controller for the personal data described here.

Questions and requests: eva@ai.teren.no, subject “Privacy”.

When you visit the site

Server logs

Each time your browser loads a page or file, our web server writes one line to its log: the time, the page or file, the result, the page you came from, your browser and operating system as your browser reports them, and your IP address with the last part removed (the last of the four numbers for IPv4; everything after the first 48 bits for IPv6). The full address is shortened before the line is written, so it is never stored.

We use the logs to keep the site secure and working, and to count visits: how many, when, from which kind of device and from which website. The logs are deleted after 30 days. The counts we keep after that contain no IP addresses.

Visit and click counter

The page sends a short note to our own server when it loads and when you use one of its main buttons, such as “Copy prompt” or the email and booking links. The note names the button and nothing else, and it lands in the same log. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and carries no identifier. If your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control switched on, the page sends no notes at all.

To count unique visitors per day, a script combines the shortened IP address and the browser description into a one-way code with a random value that is thrown away after each run. Visits cannot be linked from one day to the next.

No cookies, no tracking across sites

The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Fonts and all other files come from our own server; the page makes no requests to other companies, so no one else learns that you visited.

When you email us

Mail to eva@ai.teren.no arrives in a mailbox hosted by Google Workspace. Our AI system sorts incoming mail and can summarise a message or draft a reply. The engineer who builds the platforms reads your message and decides what is sent; no reply goes out without a person.

To sort and summarise a message, our system sends its sender, subject and text to AI model providers through our business accounts. We store your name, email address, company and the conversation in our customer system on our own server, so we can follow up on your request.

If your enquiry does not lead to an agreement, we keep the conversation and your contact details only for as long as we need them to follow up on your request, and delete them earlier whenever you ask. If you become a customer, invoices and related records are kept for as long as Norwegian bookkeeping law requires.

When you book a call

The booking page is a Google Calendar appointment page in our Google Workspace account. When you book, Google stores the details you enter (name, email address and any answers) and creates a calendar event with a Google Meet link. Google does this for us as our data processor under its Workspace terms. If you are signed in to your own Google account at the time, Google’s privacy policy also applies to that account.

We copy the booking into our customer system on our own server so we can prepare for the call. We do not record calls.

“Ask your own AI”

The copy button puts our platform brief on your clipboard. The copying happens in your browser; the brief contains nothing about you, and nothing you do with it is sent to us. Loading the brief is an ordinary file request, logged like any page.

If you choose “Open in ChatGPT” or “Open in Claude”, your browser opens that service with our prompt filled in. What you then share there is between you and that service, under its terms. We receive nothing from it.

Why we may do this

  • Legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): keeping the site secure, counting visits, and answering businesses that contact us.
  • Steps you ask for before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)): bookings, pilot applications and proposals.
  • Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): bookkeeping records, if you become a customer.

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles of visitors.

Who else processes it

  • Google (Google Workspace): our mailbox, calendar and Meet.
  • Hostinger, our hosting provider: the virtual server in the EU that runs this site and our customer system.
  • AI model providers: the sender, subject and text of emails our system sorts and summarises.

Some of these providers can process data outside the EEA. Ask us and we will tell you which ones, and on what basis the data is transferred.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict how we use it, or receive it in a portable format where that applies. You can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest.

Write to eva@ai.teren.no. We answer within one month. Server log lines carry no full IP address, so we usually cannot find one person’s visits in them.

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

Changes

When what we do with personal data changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
